Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve emailed Pinnacles FC — when can I expect a response?

We aim to respond to emails based on priority within 2–3 business days.
Please note: emails sent over the weekend will be answered starting Monday.

Fall 2025 In-Office Hours:

Monday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Tuesday: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Thursday: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

I’ve registered for a summer camp — when will I receive my camp info?

Camp information will be sent out on the Wednesday before the camp begins.
Please check your inbox (and your spam folder, just in case).

I’m looking to register for Fall and have some questions

What is your refund policy?

What is Pinnacles FC’s policy regarding inclement weather, including heat and lightning?

Pinnacles FC follows BC Soccer weather safety protocols.

Heat & Humidex Guidelines:

Below 24°C: No concern
25–27°C: Low risk – normal play
28–31°C: Moderate risk – athletes monitored; drink breaks every 30 minutes
32–36°C: High risk – monitor closely; consider shortened games, rescheduling, or cancellation
38°C+ (Extreme): All activity is cancelled

Rain & Lightning – The 30/30 Rule:
When you see lightning, count the time until you hear thunder.
If it’s 30 seconds or less, seek proper shelter.
Wait 30 minutes or more after the last thunder before resuming play.
If you cannot see lightning, use thunder alone as your cue.

We also follow City of Penticton field status updates.
If the city closes fields due to weather, all activities will be cancelled.
If possible, we will move sessions indoors before cancelling to minimize disruption.

What equipment does my child need to participate?

Outdoor Soccer – Recreational & Competitive (Spring, Summer, Fall):

Soccer cleats
Shin guards
Water bottle

Uniform Details:

Recreational League (Tots, Tykes, Minis, Youth):

Spring: Fees include jersey, shorts, and socks.
Fall: Jerseys provided as needed for games. New players receive shorts and socks.
Camps/Summer: Weather-appropriate athletic clothing.

Competitive League:

Spring: Game jersey rental and PFC training jersey included. Shorts and socks provided (players keep).
Fall: Game jersey rental included. New players receive training jersey, shorts, and socks if needed.
Winter / Academy: PFC training jersey, black shorts, and black socks required.
Camps/Summer: Weather-appropriate athletic clothing.

When will I hear from my child’s coach?

Teams will be rostered approximately one week before the program start date.
You’ll receive an email invitation to join your team on TeamSnap, where all communication takes place.
Please download the TeamSnap app in advance and check your inbox for your invite.

Can I request for my child to be placed with a friend?

Yes! Friend requests are accepted for eligible age groups.
Please email your request to admin@pinnaclesfc.ca at the time of registration or shortly after.
While we do our best to accommodate, placements are not guaranteed and depend on team availability.

Are sibling discounts available?

Yes! Families registering three or more children receive a sibling discount.

If all children register in the same league (e.g., Recreation or Competitive), the discount applies automatically.
If children are in different leagues, please email admin@pinnaclesfc.ca to have it applied manually.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes. For programs 8 weeks or longer in duration an installment payment option is available during registration — simply select it at checkout.

How can I become a volunteer coach?

We’d love to have you! Please contact admin@pinnaclesfc.ca for more information.

Can I pay by cash or cheque?

Yes. Cash and Interac payments are accepted during office hours.

Cheques: Please make payable to “Pinnacles FC.”

If my child registers late, do we get a discount for missed sessions?

No. Late registrations do not receive discounts for missed games or practices.

Where are the fields located?

Please visit our Field Locations page for a list of fields by region.

How much travel is involved?

Recreational Youth: Play within the South Okanagan (Penticton, Summerland, Oliver, Osoyoos, Keremeos).
Development/Competitive : Travel across the Okanagan and surrounding areas.

If my child decides they don’t like soccer, can I get a refund?

Please refer to our Refund Policy.

Is financial assistance available?

Yes. Information on local assistance programs can be found here.

What days of the week are practices?

Practice days vary by age group and region. Please see your program details under the Program tab on our website.

Can International Students play in the league?

Possibly. Since January 2018, there have been provisions allowing International Students to play under specific conditions.
This process involves FIFA and BC Soccer and requires several supporting documents.
